Hi,

I need the width of the select box for "Keep Until" "They Expire" resp. "{-brand-short-name} is
closed". The entities are: sitedata-keep-until, sitedata-keep-until-expire,
sitedata-keep-until-closed in the Privacy section of the Preferences dialog.

The Sorbian strings "Firefox so njezačini" (hsb) and "Firefox se njezacynijo" (dsb) for
sitedata-keep-until-closed do not fit into the select box. The box is too short. Where can I change
the width of the select box?

Thanks and regards,

Michael

I wonder if this is a bug in xul layout, interacting with the timing of
Fluent.

If that's the case, we should get this on our radar of xul things to
fix. Removal of xul select controls or fixing layout would both work for me.

also on macOS and Italian).

We have already one on file for another dropdown

work fine on Windows.

Hi Axel, hi Francesco,

thank you for your quick reply.

I found 3 further dropdown boxes where this issue occurs with Upper Sorbian strings:

history-remember-option-custom
item: Swójske nastajenja za historiju wužiwać

sitedata-accept-third-party-visited-option
item: Jenož wot wopytanych třećich (seems it is used in Fx 62 only, not in Nightly)

content-blocking-reject-trackers-all-third-parties-option
item: Wšě placki třećich (móže zawinować, zo websydła njefunguja)

All in preferences.ftl.

The same is true for Lower Sorbian.

Thanks

Michael

Hi Axel, hi Francesco,

it seems that the issue is caused by my monitor with the low monitor resolution of 1024 x 768. At
work I have a bigger monitor with higher resolution and the strings are not truncated there.

Michael

Thanks, that's useful information.

In the case of those bugs, it's definitely independent from the
resolution (using a 27" external monitor).
